If you value your outdoor space because it is an extension of your home but you are not quite sure how to bring it together in a cohesive, well-thought-out way, then it could be time to book a one-hour Horticultural / Design Consultation with an American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) Certified Horticulturist and designer!
A friendly, professional in-person Consultation is perfect for those who are starting a new garden or want to make changes to an existing landscape. Don't know where to begin? Have your questions answered while receiving expert, on-site advice for selecting and planting new plants, plus learn proper care for existing plants!
When we invest wisely in our gardens they give us a future return of more beauty, functionality, and sanctuary in our daily lives. Whether you are looking to update, refresh, or start anew in your yard, a Horticultural / Design Consultation can put fresh eyes on your outdoor space, evaluating your outdoor space and giving much needed direction to a project.
Please note: a one-hour Consultation does not furnish planting plans or plant lists! If you have your own diagram and want to fill in the plants, either schedule a Nursery Consultation, or try the excellent plant database at snwa.com/landscapes/plants.
ALL NEW! Nursery Consultation: Don't underestimate the value of a one-on-one consultation with an experienced professional designer at your side to help navigate the selection process for your DIY landscape project!
Although not as comprehensive as a professional Planting Design, a Nursery Consultation can provide you with a solid foundation with which to proceed creating your own custom plant list or diagram. You will learn how to use plants for specific purposes, and how to apply fundamental garden design principles to your space. A copy of Perennial Garden Consultants' Installation and Care Guidelines is included at no extra charge.
Bring photos of your yard to the nursery or garden center of your choice. We'll go through the assortment of ornamental plants and find not just the plants you like but the ones that have the best chance of succeeding in your yard. (Non-refundable hourly fee. A prepared Plant List is optional and can be made available for an additional fee.)
1. You’ve already wasted money on plants that didn’t make it.
Just because a plant is offered at the garden center doesn't mean it will grow where you want to put it.
2. You have failing plants, unidentified plants, and/or plants that don’t give your yard the look you wanted.
We identify and assess the plants you have, suggesting options that work for you and your yard.
3. You can’t get the kind of independent, personalized, on-site help you need at the nursery or garden center.
With design experience and horticultural knowledge brought to you, the time spent on your property is dedicated exclusively to your project! Perennial Garden Consultants does not profit from selling you plants.
4. You want to create a new garden and don’t know where to start.
Our goal is to set you up for success. From soil prep to proper siting, you bring your questions, your ideas, your budget, and we’ll explore the possibilities.
5. You’re considering having your yard professionally designed and wonder whether Perennial Garden Consultants would be a good fit for your DIY project.
Terrific! Whether or not you decide to take the next step of a professional design, a Horticultural/Design Consultation can help you to see your project in a new light and provide much-needed direction.
